What do u think of a 2003 mazda tribute with 101000 miles for $3100
Hey Scotty, what do you think of a 1966 Volvo 1800s?
Hi Scotty, I currently have a 2014 ford fiesta with that terrible dct transmission, however it has 36000 miles on it so I am hoping it will last me a few more years. Ford has replaced the clutch multiple times and I think it has finally been resolved. My problem is you recently made a video about the Acura ILX and you said that DCT is actually very durable and reliable because of the torque converter. Would you still recommend that car even though the history of DCT reliability hasn't been that great? If so I will put this car on my short list for my next car. I was also thinking about the 2019 Honda Civic Si with the standard transmission, however I am concerned about Honda's 1.5t oil dilution problem and can't seem to find an answer to whether it has been resolved or not, so I would prefer the engine in the 2019 Acura ilx, but it's that DCT transmission that has me questioning its longterm durability. (Also I live in Minnesota so the rear wheel drive lexus IS is not a good solution).
I have a 07 tc auto with 125k and the engine takes a bit longer than normal to start when I crank it. At first it seemed intermittent but now it’s pretty much every cold start, maybe due to the whether change (im in north TX). I actually have some spark plugs I bought for it a few months ago. Should I try that? And if that doesn’t work, what should I try? Only thing i’ve changed on it since owning it for a few months is oil and air filter.
Hey Scotty. I have never seen a video of you talking about subcompact cars. What are the best used Subcompact cars for the money. Any suggestions? Between the years 2008-2013.
All the best!
Hey scotty , what is your opinion of the 460 v8 engine ? Reliable playing field or junk ?
Hi Scotty, i saw your update on the upcoming GF6B oil type for GDI engines. I've been using Amsoil Full Synthetic 5W30 Signature Series and various premium filters on a 2018 Ford Escape 2L Ecoboost. The oil changes cost me more than my Mercedes oil changes with the fleece filter! Am i wasting good coin over a marketing scheme?
Scotty I have a 2008 Toyota RAV4 2.4 liter 136,000 miles I just bought it one owner have every receipt for oil changes and maint done well 2 days ago I put it in reverse and give it a little gas and it’s pops out of reverse and goes back it and will keep doing it now what could this be besides needing a trans rebuild all forward gears are great thanks
Cant see live podcast this morning, hmmm.
Scotty, My 95 toyota t100 v6 with 215,000 miles recently had a valve cover gasket replaced. No check engine light, just burning oil. Now check engine light comes on with code P0710. Would a bad VCG replacement be triggering this code or is it just a "coincidence" that all of a sudden this code pops up. Sincerely, Confused.
Scotty I own a 2017 Ford Fusion Sport with 50K miles but it was half the price of a 44K car with the 2.7L Ecoboost engine from the F150, recently too 3 months ago. I than recently watched your Cheap car video followed by the do not buy f150 video can you tell me by chance the top things I need to look out for I want and need to keep this as long as I can is there any tips you can recommend for the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport 2.7L V6 Ecoboost AWD (should of been a ST). Thanks Scotty
Hey Scotty, greetings from Toronto! Love your show
I bought a 2017 Nissan Sentra SV new before I started listening to your show. Now it has 32,300miles and I want to get rid of it before it starts to give me problems. In your experience at what mileage does the CVT transmission starts to give out?
Thank you very much.
Hi scotty, I live in dubai, i got an Audi A4 B8 with over 200km, it's been three months now, it's been riding okay, no major problem, the only issue I had with the car was the oil pressure switch, it was leaking oil badly and I had it changed, otherwise no issue, my question is is that a good choice of car I made?

I live in Toronto and planning to buy a used car. My budget is 4000-5000 CAD. Cannot decide between a Civic or Corolla from 2006-2009. I want something reliable that I can use for the next 3 to 5 years without major repairs.
All the best!
Hey Scotty, I have a 2006 Sienna with 200k miles with CEL, VSC and Trac Off lights on. Codes given are P0430 and P0420. The car has poor mpg(12), hesitant and jerks on acceleration. Changed all the spark plugs and cleaned the throttle body a week ago. Also changed the o2 sensors with after market ones around the same time. What do you think is the problem?
I have a 2003 Ford Expedition XLT 4.6 liter v8 with an oil issue. Whenever I go down a steep grade or brake hard, the oil pressure gauge drops to L(low) and the light “HI TEMP LOW OIL” turns on for about a couple of seconds and it goes back to normal with no issues or hesitations. What do you suggest I do?
Scotty my parents gave me their 2003 Ford explorer it has the 4.0 liter v6 the car has 250000 miles and the timing chain went but the transmission was redone at 170000 miles and me and my friend thought about putting a used motor in it what do you think
Is a 93’ Chevy pickup made like a tank.
What do you think about 2010 Honda CR-V EX-L (AWD) with 126K mileage for $8,800? Is it a reliable SUV?
Which would you get? a 92 Camry with 162,000 for $1300, or an 02 Corolla with 132,000 for $1000
Hi Scotty. I've 2009 Toyota Camry. Recently, I went on vacation disconnecting my cars positive and negative battery terminals. I made sure that terminals don't touch each other or any car part. After returning, I connected the battery terminals and the car didn't start. After few cranks it started, but stopped twice in middle of the road. Drove it for 2 days with AC ON and still it is idiling low. Any suggestions?
Hey scotty big fan I was wondering if I can pick your brain for a sec i have a 2003 toyota avalon and my key wouldn't turn at all not even to acc so I ended up having to drill the button out so I could remove in without it being in acc inserted a brand new one and it will.not turn but it will turn outside the car so I thought maybe it was a programmable problem even tho the cylinder and key that I had in it initially I can tell is an aftermarket key so I fixed the original one up had jammed tumblers put it back together now it too will turn outside the car but not when I put it in the ignition switch housing any thoughts?

Hey Scotty, I know you answer car questions but I decided to give it a try. I have a 2005 Honda CRF230F is this a solid machine that I can ride on motocross tracks without the engine blowing up on me? Thanks
Ok thanks man.
Hey I know your a busy man.
But I'd still like to know your opinion on the 07 GMC Acadia that I told you about
We think its transmission problems.
But please tell me
I’m a new view. I found you recently by doing research on my 2016 Toyota 4Runner I purchased recently. I owned a nothing but Isuzu Troopers the last 25 years. But my last faithful steed has gone to pasture. So I replace her with a 4Runner TRD Pro. But there are new sounds that I’m not accustomed too.
The one I’ve had the most concern about is a light tapping/ticking noise coming from the engine. A Toyota Dealer mechanic told me that it’s fairly common for these engines with 30k+ miles. He said these engines tend to get a varnish build up on the fuel injection and valves but it nothing to be too concerned about.
So my concern is, did the mechanics give me the right diagnostics? If so, then I’m wondering if there are ways to reduce the noise. I did add Lucas Oil for synthetic oil and it was noticeably quieter afterwards. Someone also said I could put Miracle Oil in engine and that would help remove the varnish. I also talked to a customer service guy for Toyota about it and he said using different oil might help too. He said his Tundra runs quieter on Valvoline synthetic oil. Right now I’m running Castro Synthetic Oil.
Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Hey scotty, I just bought a used 2007 Lexus ES 350 with 96,400 miles. Dont't know if the fluid was changed before so should I have the automatic transmission fluid changed or no?
Hi Scotty, my father recently bought a BMW 123d M Sport convertible for £11,000. He is convinced he has the 'ultimate driving machine'. Do you think he got a good deal?
When did Volvo stop making quality vehicles?
Hi Scotty - here’s a weird one. I have a 2009 Ford Edge AWD. It misfires on me on with slight acceleration - especially on inclines. The check engine light never comes on and it’s not throwing any codes. Here’s the weird part. It doesn’t happen if I run premium gas but it comes back as soon as I switch back to regular unleaded. Any ideas?
Hi Scotty I have a 1979 Chevy c10 the got hit directly on the rear axle. Cracked the pumpkin.
Put everything new, but waiting for the new wheels.
When I drive on the highway my speedometer Mark's let's say 75mph but feels slower. So I used my GPS speedometer and it tell me I'm only going g 65mph. What could be wrong? Thanks
Hi Scotty i am almost 16 and am looking to buy a idi 7.3 f250 and was wanting your opinion on those old school trucks

Hey Scotty, I’m looking at a 2007 Lexus LS460 with 107k for around $9,000. How well made and reliable are these model Lexus? Let me know if you have any experience with these throughout your years of being a mechanic.
Hello Scotty, just want to know what would you choose between the three, 2004 BMW 318i, 2008 Toyota Camry or 2011 Hyudai Sonata? These 3 is on the same price so I want to know your opinion. Hope you can see this message :)
Hello Scotty, I just wanted to tell u that I took ur advice and I got a 2001 Toyota Corolla that I use as a daily driver to deliver in. I've put 20,000 miles on it with just a little fixing up in the last 7 months and it has never left me stranded. It had only 134,000 miles on it when I got it for $1,200.00. The car has already paid for itself, however it's a car that wasnt well taken care of and I'm thinking of getting a newer Toyota Corolla, Camry, or Prius. I dont want a hybrid after watching ur videos, lol. Which model and year would u choose, in my position? Also, thank you very much for helping people with wise advice when it comes to vehicles. An honest man, I can tell. Also, before I started watching ur videos, I bought a 2011 dodge ram with 135,000 miles on it. So far, I have found an exhaust manifold leak and some minor electrical issues. Thinking of selling it and either getting a Ford or Tundra. It seems u would advise me to do that now, before I start having problems. Kinda scary because I really like my truck, it's really awesome. I've also put 20,000 miles on my truck relatively trouble free, so far; lol.
Hi Scott, long time viewer, first time poster. I have a 2008 Acura MDX with 110k miles. I only get cold air on the passenger side of my SUV when i turn on the AC. The driver side will eventually get cold but i think that's because its recirculating the cold air being spit out by the passenger side.
Any idea what this could be?
Hi Scotty, my buddy is always talking about how his prior rental 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee trail hawk with 40,000 miles is going to outlast my brand new 2018 Honda CRV. What are your thoughts?
Hey scotty I know that neutral dropping is horrible and would never do it intentionally. I was going 19 miles per hour when my kid kicked the clutch into neutral and I panicked and put it back into drive right away instead of coasting to a stop. I don't think I damaged anything other than my pride when I yelped. I just heard that honda transmissions arent the best but I really love my car please help.
Hi Scotty. Been watching your videos for a few years now.
I have an 03 VW Jetta. Took it to a shop to have the a/c looked at and well the mechanic applied 12v from the battery to the plug for the a/c compressor and now I have the epc light on along with 3 codes for the pedal/throttle position sesnor and 1 for the o2 sesnor. Car idles at 1200 rpms and has a dead throttle. Been told by other on forums that the ecu is fried. What do you think
Hey Scotty been subscribed and watching your videos for the last 2 years! I do have my first question for you.
I have an automatic 2017 honda civic hatchback sport with 24k on it. I was in drive going maybe 30 km/h and my passenger accidentally pushed the gear into neutral. I had my foot on the gas and it revved to around 4000 rpm for 2 - 3 seconds before I put it back to drive. I'm not sure what rpm it was before I put it back into drive. I don't think I felt any jolt but I still am a little worried. Just wondering what problems could show up and what signs to look for.
Scotty, I'm thinking about buying a 2013 Ford Taurus SE V6 with 75,000 miles for $9,500. What do you think??
Hey Scotty what do you think of a 2003 C5 corvette, 50th Anniversary edition, manual tranny w/111k miles on it ?
2 owners: first owner had it for 9 years (averaged about 8k miles a year). 2nd owner for 7 years (averaged 5k miles a year).
Local Chevy Dealer is asking $12,565. KBB is showing $15k dealer retail in excellent condition. Car fax is showing front end accident in 2017. Car looks awesome, exterior (front bumper too) & interior is flawless. This wouldn’t be used a daily driver.
Is a 1997 Lexus LS 400 good? 158547km no rust, not flooded, wrecked or stolen. 2200 dollars. Is that a good offer?
Scotty I texted you earlier on the 06 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE - HR you said the modern ones tend to be junk does the 06 qualify as a modern one or one of the first older ones
Hello Scotty, My Wifes 2016 Ford Explorer with 82K Had a recall on the Air Bag, ( The light stays on) Her extended warranty covers most but the Ford Dealership tells her it is not covered. It is a wiring harness or sensor. Tells her to wear a safety belt and ignore it? This car is the same one that the transmission fell out at 30K, It is in the dealership for the rear suspension link recall and faulty drive motor on the moonroof. Ford has a serious issue with paint on iron impregnated aluminum delaminating......Ford is not covering this issue. So who would buy a new one based upon this history?
Scotty I really need your input I have a 2011 ford flex 2wd 106,000 miles making a noise that sounds exactly like a bad wheel bearing but its not do you have any idea what it could be? I'm thinking could it be the differential in the transmission.
Hey Scotty, I'm Mike from New Jersey.
I drive 80 thousand miles per year for my work and I'm currently driving an 07 Prius (that I love). What I really want is the longest lasting, most fuel efficient automatic convertible produced by the hands of man. Any suggestions?
