Hey Scotty I’m trying to put myself through college right now and money is tight. I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra with the 4.7 with VVT and only 120k miles. I love that truck but I’m past due on my timing belt and it’s about $1000 to replace. What should I do and how long do you think I could get away with driving it until it blows up? And because it’s an interference will I need a whole new engine if it does snap? Thank you so much

at start up the rpm run high for a couple minutes if I switch gears and accelerate before the rpms go down the car will hesitate and act as if it’s going to die, also the lights will dim and get brighter repeatedly. I think this might be part of the same problem... I’m dumfounded batt, alternator, and stared all check out. No engine light, car has a pedal position sensor on it so not sure how I would go about testing the throttle position sensor, I also have cleaned the mass air flow sensor, changed air filter and cleaned throttle body... any ideas on what’s going on with this vehicle?
