Scotty, I am going to be doing a spark plug change on my 09 Lexus IS 250, 136K miles. I have to remove the intake manifold to do the left bank of spark plugs. The intake manifold gasket is rubber. Do you recommend installing a new gasket rather than using the old one over again even if I do not damage it and should I buy one from Lexus or will an aftermarket one be ok?

Hey Scotty,

First thing first is. Can you link me where to this community section because I tried finding it on your YouTube channel the ask Scotty section but cannot find it. Will you please send the link? My questions are the following:

What are your thoughts on the 2019 Toyota RAV4 LE and XLE? I personally own one myself and I love it. I always turn off the stop and go feature since it gets annoying over time sadly I’m not in your local area I would love to give you mine so you can review it but I’m all the way in NY.

Also why you think KIA and Hyundai make non reliable cars? What problems they form over time?

Thanks! Hopefully you’ll read this!

What are your thoughts on the buick encore and enclave. I'm in the market for a new one and looking at these. I do alot of in town driving, averaging ruffly 7000 miles per year. Powers not an issue for me, I need reliability!! But want an SUV

I had my last car for 14 years 2006 Pontiac G6 GT. I only need a new one due to an accident that totaled it or I'd still be driving it 😕

***tried asking in the ask scotty section it wont let me 🤔

Hey Scotty put this in your video I want to advise everyone NOT to buy a Nissan. There quality is down to the S***s. In 2011 I bought myself a Nissan Maxima brand new and the right left door always had problems with the latch. No matter how hard I would shut it the light always came on inside as if the car wasn’t latched. Also the door was very hard to open from factory than all the other doors. And when you get the door open it would open all most to the fender mind you this car only had 3000 miles on it. I took it to the Nissan dealer they claim they put a new door latch system. At 9000 miles it failed again. I kept driving the car with a broken latch. Just 3 weeks ago the car now has 128000 miles I was going maybe 35 mph the right door just fell off the car. I paid 25000$ for this car also the transmission is going off. Scotty I need your help should I go junk it for a New Toyota Camry

Hey Scotty, I got a 2013 Buick Verano, 124,000 miles mostly made on the highway, with the 2.4L ecotec 4 cylinder. Over the last year or two I've noticed that the car is using more oil than before and have to top it off a quart every 1,000 to 1,500 miles. Is this normal or do you think something really wrong could be going on?

Hey Scotty, what do you think about a low mileage 09 maserati quattroporte? I've only ever owned Lincoln town cars but I really like the styling on the quattroportes, do you think they're worth it?

Hey Scotty,

I know you're not a huge fan of Nissan. However, I know you mentioned that you liked the Nissan Frontier. How about the Nissan Titan (esp. the Cummins)? Would you take the Nissan Titan or the Toyota Tundra?

Hey Scotty, I have a '09 Dodge Journey (4 cyl, fwd. 130,000 miles) with a clunking noise near the front left wheel. The noise is most apparent when turning left around 10-20 mph.

I also notice a popping noise occasionally from the middle of the vehicle around the transmission mount area is when hitting the gas from a stop. I am hoping the popping noise is just the transmission mount because I'm getting it replaced. (engine rocks back and forth, no misfire detected on scanner).

I was wondering if you had any idea what the clunking is. No play when shaking the wheels or pushing back and forth at the 9 and 3 and 12 and 6 position. Haven't checked the tie rod ends, upper/lower control arms. The noise also appears without turning left when hitting the gas on ice/thick snow and the traction control kicks in. Most loud when wheels spinning faster than the car. When the ABS kicks in on ice, there might be a bit of a clunk, but the ABS noise is a bit loud, so its difficult to notice.

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

I have a automatic 2010 chevy Malibu and it keeps cutting off when I come to a stop or sometimes when I'm driving. And it wont crank back up unless you take off the positive battery cable and then put it back on. I ran codes its showing no codes and the battery came back good and the alternator came back good to. What else could it be?

Hey Scotty. I own a 2015 Altima and the transmission is going out. Going to be looking for another vehicle soon. What do you recommend for a good used car? Around the same year I guess could be newer or older. Thanks for all you do.

Hey Scotty! My sister has a 2018 Nissan Sentra with 18k miles. I calculated yesterday after driving for a long time on the highway at 70-80 mph, and it only got 32 mpg. Today, it started to shake whenever we stopped. I know Nissan's CVTs are terrible.

Hey Scotty, our 1999 Dodge Dakota Sport 3.9L V6 doesn't want to idle, unless you keep your foot on the gas. If you let off, it stalls. What could be happening?

Hey there Scotty, love the videos! I have a 2014 CR-V LX with just over 131k on it. Question is, should I trade it now while there is still value on it or ride it out to 200k? The propeller shaft is making a fair amount of noise as the weather gets colder but that's the only thing going on with it. Get oil changed every 5k and rotate tires the same. Car has been great but eventually want to upgrade to a V6 like the Pilot, Passport, Highlander, or 4Runner.

2008 Camry. Can battery failure affect the alternator? I understand it's usually the reverse.

I used to own a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina and I loved that car. I recently was in the market for a new car and was leaning towards a 2018 Chevrolet Impala. In addition to the whole discontinuation of the Impala, GM vehicles and my own research it broke my heart to find out that my "American" muscle wasn't so American. I'm done with Chevy from now on.

I lost my right mind and leased '19 Equinox. On trip, engine quit on expressway and was towed to Chev dealership. We were 5 hours from home. Came home in rental. Now 3 days later am told that engine destroyed and have to put in new engine. 2,800 miles on car. Dealer not forthcoming with answers. Of course, Chev customer care is saying "sorry about your luck". Want me to drive back there and pick up car. They are not willing to do anything. I have more sordid details if you would like them. Too much for here. Can send repair order from dealer. Thank God I don't own this piece of junk. Thanks for listening.
