Interesting, but truly expected, as any technology can be attacked by better technology, as in warfare
An arduino or raspberry pi could easily be programmed to send out all frequencies between a range and surely one of those frequencies would open the car.

yes, that's true. Any computer system that's mass produced can be easily hacked by a pro
Or they bring a high level scanner, and a blank key and register the key to the car's computer. Which obviously takes longer.
They use range extenders which establish a 2 way link between the car and the key fob in your pocket over a large distance. Solution? Put your key in a signal blocking bag when not using it.
