Heck, that Smart Car in the video is a diesel and it takes 23 seconds to get from 0-60 MPH and as strange as it sounds, you have to drive 1/4 mile to get to 60 MPH. A Smart Car will barely get to 60 if you try.

cause it would look weird, they care a lot about looks on modern cars. Actually cage design would be much safer for occupants
