I try to avoid the dealership for repairs, as in my area the BMW, Mercedes, & Audi dealers are around $185 - $225 / shop hour. My local mechanic is at $105/hour, but when I need more sophisticated diagnosis, I end up taking the car to the dealership. When my Audi was under warranty, I always took my car to the dealership :) Now, I think twice.
