The Best Standard Transportation Car Ever Made

First, there was the model T ford, selling millions. Then came the Beetle, selling even more. But THEN came the toyota corolla, which sold over 45 million models. Scotty explains how it all came about and highlights the best car for getting you from here to there economically for decades.

Scotty... love your videos. I have to say, I learned the hard way before I have totally embraced Toyota. I owned junk GM and Ford cars, a diesel VW (total junk) and a Mitsubishi Mirage (even worse than VW). I now see cars like Mercedes and Audis and just laugh. Waste of money, and time. I have an 03 Corolla that I bought after doing much research brand new. This month I had to do the water pump, that and struts have been really the only fixes apart from brakes and fluid changes. I do oil very 3K and it runs fine. Corolla is for sure as boring as it is dependable. Question for Scotty I have not seen in your videos, what is your opinion of high mileage oils and synthetic blend oils? I have been doing 1/2 conventional and 1/2 synthetic for awhile on my Corolla and 2001 RAV4. The engines seem fine, just wonder if I should avoid synthetics on old cars (Rav has 155K, Corolla has 147K). Thanks Scotty, like you I never bothered to finish my PHD and am glad I left that nonsense. Larry in Ohio.

Hey Scotty. Great video as always. I credit you for turning my car preferences toward the Toyota universe (recently bought a used 2008 Lexus IS250 with a manual transition). I'm curious what your opinion is of the epic W123 style Mercedes Benz diesels (240D and 300D non turbo). Warmest Regards as always, Jason S.

Which one is the more reliable corolla; the 7th or 8th generation?
