Scotty Kilmer, mechanic for the last 50 years, shows how you can avoid and pain and misery of having a bad mechanic work on your car. Yes, they are hard to find these days, but there are a few good ones out there and Scotty shows how to find them.
A lot of cars out in the front with dust because it takes them a week to get to your car is a sign of a bad shop, period. He nailed that one. Good shops get cars in and out of there in all but a day or two, unless it's a serious job like an engine swap, then it's usually a Saturday gig. Still, no lots of cars. Avoid those places! google street view maps
Agreed. My grandmother went to a Firestone in Miami and had to pay $1,600 up front before services were rendered. Not only did she get scammed, but the kids that did the work did a shoddy job. This happened while I was in Washington D.C., so as a result, I wasn't there to warn her. Me and my father will be going with her ASAP to get her money back and properly fix whatever was actually wrong with the car. It's a 2001 Honda Passport V6 with 80K miles.
