Hey Scotty, love your vids! I have a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie crew cab with about 99,000 miles on it. Love the truck and I have the lifetime Mopar warranty which I have taken full advantage of with engine, trans, and electrical repairs on their dime. The truck is obviously paid off and I want to keep driving it until the wheels fall off and they put new ones on, under warranty.

Here's the problem though; the body is starting to rust out under the doors and a little around the fenders. My body guy, who I trust completely, says he doesn't want to fix it because the rust will come back straight away. I live outside Chicago BTW. He says to do it right and to get more than a couple years out of it I should buy a used cab from down by you where there isn't such a prevalent rust problem. He estimates me looking at 5 grand after buying the cab, having it shipped up here, and him ripping out the interior to install it.

What do you think? I really want to keep it but I don't know A. if the repair is worth it and B. if Dodge will try to buy me out of the warranty because more problems will start happening.

Chicago like Missouri dumps salt over the roads in the winter, do what I do and give the undercarriage a Jose down after each wash. I would just drive it untill it is deemed unsafe by either a safety inspection or mechanic.
