Hello Everyone.. When i bought my 2008 Lancer last month i got this woofer from the previous owner. But there was no amp with it. So i bought a 400watt amp but after connecting it with the woofer i checked that the amp is getting hotter every time i start the radio. What i should do now? Which amp i should buy? should i get 800watt amp ore more?

Look for the impendance/resistance rating of the woofer such as 4 ohms. It should match that of the amp otherwise the amp will overheat and blow. Realize the amp wattage numbers are BS. It would blow up the car's electric system if true.

look closely at the woofer to see if any data is on it, if not. Go to a car stereo joint and they could test it and tell you how many amps you need out of your amplifler
