So I have a 1995 Nissan Maxima that I bought 3 months ago. It never had issue starting until a few weeks ago one time I turn the key then it clicked and won't start, then I turned the key again it started right up. Then it had no starting problems until today. I started my car a few times with no issue running a few errands. Well, after I got off work, my car wouldn't start. The gauges lights up and headlight comes on too, just won't start. It just click once when I turn the key. Well, someone stopped by and tried to help me jump start it. We let the battery charge a few minutes then tried to start it, still nothing. Then someone else came by and tapped the starter as I turn the key, still won't start. Then I decided to get a tow. Well, right when the tow truck driver was about to come, the car started up. I made it home with no issue, the car doesn't seem any different then it was earlier in the day. I'm thinking it's the starter going out and plan to get it replaced. The battery seems fine as it was replaced a year ago. Is there anything else that it could be or I should check?

OBDII scan it if you have OBDII port. And Load Test battery, starter, alternator.

Cables or starter

Could be starter, also if battery cables are clamped with two nuts under there gets bad and occasional loss of connecting. Check ground
