Hey Scotty 2009 Scion TC so motor mounts are bad but not sure which ones I know OEM is best but they’re expensive. There’s 4 mounts total 1 in front 1 in back and 1 on each side if I was gonna go OEM on only 2 of them to save $ which 2 would you go OEM on? In other words which ones take the most impact in everyday driving? Thanks

Hey Scotty I went to an alignment shop and tried to get an alignment but they said they could only align the toe. Also they asked if I had hit something because my caster and camber were off in my Driver front tire and also in my passenger rear tire. No parts look worn. How can I find out what’s bent wrong?

Hey Scotty! What do you think about me buying a 2003 Nissan Murano SL with 167k miles? It has no check engine light, but it needs freon. She wants 2k for the SUV. Is it a good buy? Or should I just focus on getting a 2010 Toyota 4runner sr5?

Hey Scotty, I'm shopping for a rust-free Toyota or Honda. If I find one near you in Texas, will you be available to inspect it for me? What area in Houston is close to you?

I bought a new car and O2 sensor.

Some states do the emission thing, but selling the car made it legal, $20,000.00 Q.

And you can't bypass and a waste of time, money to do a cobble job,.

Hey Scotty I have a 2016 Toyota Camry with 40K Miles. I noticed when I press the gas pedal, there is a light clicking sound. What do you think the issue is? I changed the transmission oil last week eventhough the lady kept saying wait till 90K miles. Btw you made it on Tinder under Reddit forum yesterday sir. Sadly I can't post the link here.

Scotty, my state doesn’t do emissions testing. Would doing away with the cat converters be better for performance. My truck has a cat code P0420 and ever since then the idle on my truck is kinda rough. Thanks!

I am working on an 89 Dodge Daytona that I've done a ton of work on. Currently it is undriveable because the axles will not seat in the transmission. I'm also trying to figure out if my axles sit directly in the gearbox or into a housing of somekind. They connect directly under the trans, which is a Chrysler A520. I simply need to clips that go inside the trans to hold the axles in place, because my axles do not have cir clips on the axles. What is the piece called that the axles hook into? Would I be better off just dropping it off at a Transmission shop?

Hey Scotty looking for a second car for myself to replace my 2005 Toyota Rav4 S even though it's still working and doing good like it should be no major issues or anythin like that. It's going to replace my Mom's 2006 Ford Taurus SE on it's last leg at barely 200k miles. Which means I'm looking for a car myself but I'm wanting something cheap say under $3,500 easy to fix, will be reliable, automatic transmission (No CVT), and more room overall than the Rav4 as I'm a big guy somewhat. preferably to have it in cloth as that's all I can really afford most likely. Along with the capability of adding a roof rack and bike rack to the car. (Sunroof is a bonus) but it's a necessity. I'm not too keen on what to look out for with cars like what model years to look out for and what brands to avoid and such. So if I could have help with deciding on what to get I'd greatly appreciate it Scotty! and keep up the great work on youtube as well!!

Hi Scotty, I recently herd that aluminum wheels should also be waxed? Is this necessary to prevent rust and longevity. If so, I was wondering can I use NuFinish Polish on my aluminum rims (I guess be careful of the tires)?

Or any product that you recommend for waxing/polishing rims.

Honestly cannot Thank you for all your help and good work!

Hey Scotty! Extremely informative channel! Thank you for all you do! I have a question. About a year ago I bought my mom a 2010 Lexus LS460 with 101k mi. I know, I know, you're not a fan of the V8's lol.. It was regularly serviced at a Lexus dealer since it was purchased, I had a private local Mechanic check it out and got an "Ok to buy, great car in great shape".. My question is this, I have read that using synthetic oil in high mileage cars is a lot better for the car and beneficial in extending the life of the motor etc. Do you agree? Also can i switch the car over from regular if that is what was being used? Synthetic is significantly more expensive, so I want to be sure. I am interested in holding on to this car for as long as it will last. So far not one issue (knock on wood)... Thanks for your time!

Hi Scotty, I am a big fan of yours, i kinda follow all of yours suggestions about cars, recently couple of months ago i bought a 2012 Rav4, 4cyl with 80k miles. one owner car from the owner himself. i looked at the tranny fluid and its kinda brownish, and when going from very low gears to high gears in complete stops it sometimes gives a soft kick. only on the stops from lower to higher gears sometimes. i went to toyota and they dont want to change my tranny fluid saying you never change it before 100k. its not a sealed tranny and has 80k miles on it. i did a drain and fill from local independent shop but it still has brownish fluid and same soft kick in lower gear to higher gear.

what should i do? some says flush the whole fluid, but i am afraid that will ruin the tranny. Thanka

Hi Scotty,

I just bought a 1992 manual transmission Jetta GL with 140,000 miles for $1900. I've noticed that the car has a hard time starting after not running for even just a few hours. What could be causing this? I've checked to make sure nothing's being left on but besides that I'm not sure about what else to check. What are some other known problem areas that I should take a look at? Thanks.

Connor

Hey Scotty Recently purchased 2016 Camry Se (15K miles) and the engine coolant temperature runs tad bit cold. The needle warms up to 40% mark ( compared to the halfway, 50% ). In addition to, my MPG is about 20 on city ( I mostly do city driving). Online it shows 25 MPG for city driving for 2016 Camry.

Is this a problem which should be addressed? Or the coolant running a tad bit cold is fine and thats how it is for real world MPG.
