Hey Scotty, got a 2008 Lexus LS460L, been having a problem when trying to floor the throttle , the car doesn’t transmit the torque gently and it shakes hard. Also, if i lift my foot off the pedal , the rpm doesn’t drop smoothly, it will drop to 3k rpm and stops there for a second , then drop to 2k and stops there again then drops to zero. What could be the source of this problem?
Hi ya doing Scotty Is buying the 2020 toyota RAV4 Worth it since on average its only $800 more?
With the release of the 2020 (2019) Toyota Rav4 hybrid only costing around $800 than it's similar gas counterpart. over 10 years you can save $4200+. (using a hybrid brake even calculator) Even if the battery didn't last after the warranty you would have saved up enough to get a new one. and still break even.
what’re your thoughts on bmw motorcycles? are they as unreliable as the cars? what’s your opinion on a very cheap motorcycle that’ll have low maintenance? looking for my first bike.

curious about your thoughts. what would you say is the most affordable and reliable exotic/supercar, not counting purchase price. what supercar could you daily drive and expect to last if you drive it modestly. I’m thinking maybe Lotus Evora 400, Ford GT, Shelby GT500, Acura NSX, a McLaren, AMG GTR/S63 or maybe even Noble M600.
Just really curious on your thoughts.

went to mechanic for tpms light on 2011 accord. gave me a quote for $900 for the sensor, anti seize, 2 hubs, outer & inner bearings, wheel seals, and brake clean.
should I trust that I actually need all of this or should I only get the tpms sensor changed? if just the sensor, should I just try to change it myself?
Or, is all of this work unnecessary? If so, I'd rather put the money towards fixing the vtc actuator to get rid of the cold-start rattle.

Hey Scotty, sorry if i ask so many questions, hope this doesnt annoy you But my car, 2003 Micra 1.5 dci, recently started to rev to 1000 or 1200 rpm, one case even to 1700 rpm, when my car was standing still, better said when i slow down than it stays at those higher rpm's, ideling sometimes when i push the accelerator a bit, in neutral, it goes back to normal, to 900 rpm Why does this happen and is there a fix? execpt selling the car, which i will probably do i think in leasing a 2016 toyota avensis 2.0D, but i was also thinking in buying it later if i like the car and it holds up well, if you dont mind i can give you the details about the car in a respond after you answer.

Hi Scotty, the radiator reservoir plastic cap popped off while I was driving. Thankfully I was able to put it back on, but the covers edge look melted. I also noticed the top hose (2000 Ford Ranger XLT) was hot, and when I open the radiator cap, the coolant spits out some. I also noticed some micro bubbles on the oil stick. What should I check for, because I want to save the engine while it’s still possible. I’ve got 7.4 miles to make it home. I’ll stop halfway to check again. Thank you! -Rick Ford
Hey Scotty, I have a 2000 Honda Civic value package. It’s has about 214k miles on it. Recently it’s been loosing power, I had to jumpstart it and now the radio has no power. Scotty, I'm not a mechanic but have been around cars for over 50+ years...cars are my passion. What I do know are cars and which ones are good buys and which ones to stay away from. I travel extensively and rent a lot of cars including high end vehicles. I would be more than happy to assist in answering questions about best cars to buy, ones to stay away from and when to lease and when to buy. If that sounds of interest, let me know. Cheers!
Scotty, I have 2006 Hyundai Sonata with a 3.3L engine. The engine temp rises from mid-gauge to 3/4 when I turn on the A/C. Why would this be? I have changed the water pump 6months ago (leaking) and thermostat as an additional precaution.
Hi, Scottie and Friends. I'm looking at buying a 2007 Camry SE, 4 Cyl. Owner says dealer rebuilt engine at 116k miles to fix a recalled oil consumption issue and he has paperwork to verify the work done. Odometer currently reads 146k. KBB range is $4125 to $5400. It seems to me that owner's asking price of $6200 is high. Does the rebuilt engine add that much value?
