I have a 93 Chevy Silverado C1500. I recently replaced the steering gearbox, pump, rag joint and both hoses. However, I am now noticing that when I turn to the left I get a slight bumping/hard spot effect in the wheel. It only happens when turning left and happens with wheels on or off the ground. The box and pump are box re manufactured and I'm sure that is a lot of the problem. From my experience in working on cars I am feeling it must be something in the gearbox but I would like to hear your thoughts on this issue?
The other thing is the A/C clutch has been cycling on/off every 2-3 seconds. I topped the freon off and it shows about 35lbs on the low side, outside temp around 90. I cannot check the high side yet, I need to get a hose adapter. I have also noticed over the last couple days for some reason the clutch now is engaged and won't cycle. The interior air is steady at 40 degrees and feels fine. What could be causing this? I am in the process of changing the A/C cycle switch to see what that will do. Any ideas?
