so to fix it do i remove sprocket and repostion it to correct mark while at tdc?

if it ran fine, then sometimes the marks are just made wrong in the first place, I have seen that over the years. If they were really that far off, engine would run like crap or not run at all. So it could be a marking mistake when built

even if i have been driving it like that and does that mean i have to reapostion the sporket to the actual mark??

first, turn it over till the piston goes down again and back up and see where it aligns. if still off, then it's put together wrong
