Mr. Kilmer. A person I've known for 7 years has a 2011 BMW X3 xDrive28i with 63,000 miles on it. She says that when she's driving, the check engine light comes on and the steering wheel shakes at the same time. What could this be? I told her that if the fix is over $2,000, she should get a Lexus RX450h. Thanks.

Expensive to maintain is usually not the case with Toyota/Lexus hybrids. I've seen Prius Airport Taxis with 400,000 original miles on them and have had nothing major done on them other than preventative maintenance and regular oil and filter changes. A bad tire is not the cause in this case. The steering wheel is not wobbling, but it shakes in a violent manner. At the same time, the check engine light is on and stays on (doesn't flash). What could this be? I must have Mr. Kilmer answer this.

I can guarantee anyone this: Lexus will always be better than BMW and German car manufacturers to own for a longer period. Unlike these German brands, Maintenance is always affordable even if any Lexus is old and no electronics go out on them because Toyota doesn't over engineer they're products. So yes, absolutely, I highly recommend her getting a Lexus RX. But just one question, Anthony; why do you choose the hybrid powertrain? I know they can be fuel efficient, but don't these engines wear out faster, expensive to maintain and difficult to work on?
