The Chrysler 200 shares a platform with the Dodge Dart. The Pacifica is an all new design that doesn't share the Dart and 200's platform.

Thanks all for your input. Since van is built off Chrysler 200 that has Pentastar engine I was wondering if FCA has mastered engines in the new Pacifica and fixed all bugs in the new series.

The same thing Toyota suggested to change the oil every 10,000 miles, but unfortunately some of their models were leaking oil as far as what I've read. I mean that's my preference when it comes to taking care of my cars.

Are you sure, Anthony? Would it cause an oil leak or worse, an overheating engine in between. Oil could get dirty. I'm not a huge fan of Chrysler products because they're junk. However, I love Charger and Challenger SRT, awesome modern muscle cars.

@JDM_guy . Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles says to change the oil every 10,000 miles. Consumer Reports still has their Pacifica which has had mostly electronic problems, since it's an early build car, and they change the oil like FCA says, every 10,000 miles. The car has 24,000 miles on it.

Change the engine oil and Filter frequently at every 5,000 miles. Most modern cars require fully synthetic oil, so use that as well. Do the other recommended maintenance that's indicated in your owners manual so it can last. Chrysler's products are usually junk, but if you do all the preventative maintenance to your car like it suggests in your owners manual the van should last years to come. Like Anthony said, "DON'T drive like a maniac." That being said, drive the car reasonably and baby it.

Change the engine oil and filter, and perform the recommended services that's in you owner's manual every 10,000 miles, and DON'T drive like a maniac.
