Iridium spark vs Twin Electrode Spark Plug

Cedric

I have a 3SFE 1999 Toyota my mechanics advice me to switch to iridium spark plugs from normal twin electrode,he said they used the twin one back then since the single ones did not last but since the iridium plug is tougher i can switch.

Is that true?

irridium plugs basically last a LONG time as the irridium does not get effected much by the insane pressures and chemical reactions inside the combustion chamber. I've seen em go 200 thousand miles and still work fine. Waste spark is just a spark fired when no gas vapor is in the cylinder, most cars use that system for anti pollution reasons

yes, that's true, nothing outlasts irridium plugs. just be sure to get the correct heat range one for that engine, have a pro parts man look it up
