I was driving to work today in my fiancé’s 2005 Ford escape I went to pass somebody and I stepped on it a little harder than I should of cars got over 200,000 miles is the reason I say that anyway the thing shifted down kind a hard went into gear fine just jolted when it did been doing that more than I would like no issues with shifting itself at all just after shifts it jolts anyway so after that happened I got in my lane passed him and all that the overdrive light started blinking I started hitting the button seem to be working fine but then the transmission slipped out of gear so I stopped put my hazards on and when I came to a full stop it went back into gear and acted completely fine I drove to work with no troubles but the overdrive light was still blinking all the way to work I googled it said it could be some sensor or wiring issue please need help any advice thank you obviously can’t be the transmission or I wouldn’t of made it to work at all or would’ve had more trouble but like I said above it didn’t slip or anything after that overdrive seem to be working fine it did seem to shift into gear fine but like I said jolt afterwards a little bit, like when you let the clutch out too fast or whatever but this is obviously an automatic any advice welcome thank you

when OD light blinks, that means a transmission trouble code has set. Get it scanned to see where the problem lies with a code, then post it here
