I purchased a used 2012 Honda Civic LX with the 1.8 L engine. I am having issues where I put it in reverse and it reverses fine, but when I put it in drive the engine revs, but the car does not move. When I put it in park and then drive it does the same thing. When I turn the vehicle off and on then the problem goes away. It seems to be intermittent. I also notice the vehicle does a slight hesitation when I press the gas. I have put a scanner on it and it only shows VSA Signal Failure and Seat Weight Sensor codes, but no other codes. Backstory, I have had issues with alternator so I have replaced the alternator (new Mitsubishi) and battery. I have noticed the battery doesn't seem to charge up and after driving it for a while and when I put it on the charger it shows it at 60% charge which is about where it stays until I put it back on the charger again. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what problem could be. I have went through two alternators so far (reman from Advanced was bad).

dan is right, tranny is going out, unless it's really low on fluid, time to say goodbye or spend many thousands fixing or replacing it
