I have a hyundai accent 2013 that has the air conditioner that operates with knobs.

Anyways, the problem is that I noticed the air conditioner only becomes ice cold when I open the car windows, and when I close the windows it starts to become less cool gradually where it becomes barely any cold until I open the windows the air conditioner becomes ice cold again and so on...

Note that my air conditioner is in recirculation mode. And the weather outside is +40 degrees celsius.

What could be the cause of this ?

Hey scotty if the evaporater is clogged, would it give the same effect? And maybe when I'm opening the windows more air is going through it so thats why the ac becomes ice cold ?

could be a bad sensor on the evap core, it can get so cold then the core ices up, then opening the window lets in warm air that melts it. See that a lot
