I have a friend who bought himself a Starsky and hutch car being a 1976 Ford Torino painted red with the iconic white stripe. He owned one years ago when he was a young man and has since always wanted another so he bought the same car not the exact one he had before but similar to the car he owned back in the early 1980’s

My friend got the motor rebuilt paid a local shop $28,000 to get its stock 351 Windsor beefed up to put our about 470 hp from stock since the engine rebuild he’s had a lot of problems with the motor knocking ,the car has been back numerous times to the engine shop for repairs (All his friends tell him not to go back there because they will continue to take his money doing more repair work ) The current problem with the cars engines is that it goes thru a liter of oil after every time he takes it out for a 6-8 hour cruise within the city every Sunday That rebuilt motor has about 600 miles on it and now no more than 1000 miles My friend tells me the car doesn’t puff oil out of the tailpipe when he steps on the Excelerator and he also tells me that there’s no puddle of oil underneath the car in the morning where else could the oil be going ??? I firmly believe that it is coming out the tailpipe and that the piston oil rings are faulty (I haven’t had a chance to watch him start the car recently to see if it’s in fact puffing oil out the tail pipe or not) where do you think this litre of oil is going? thank you in advance

This same question was posted several weeks ago. Your friend still needs to marry into the Rockefeller family or somehow otherwise acquire his own oil well. DIY some tests, starting w/ 1/ Wet/Dry Compression Test 2/ Blown Head Gasket Test. Search for both under Scotty Kilmer at YouTube.
