I have a 2008 honda accord v6 with vcm. I understand how the vcm works, but recently while coming off the interstate and having to stop and start after a red light, my car starts flashing the check engine light and running very sluggish. Also wont rev over 4000 rpms. When I turn it off, then back on it goes right back to normal. I have a very good scan tool that does real time readings, but cannot figure out what is wrong. I've read that the vcm is what is causing this issue and to possibly bypass it. What is your opinion on this? My father in law, who is a mechanic is stunned as much as I am. Thank you

Well the only thing I've found is something called a vcm muzzler. I keep up with all the maintenance on this vehicle to the point that my wife thinks i'm just doing it for fun now. But really trying to make this car last for my son who is just now 13. It was 158000 miles on the car. I even changed the timing belt on it this past year. Even broke tools trying to take the crank bolt out.

good luck bypassing all that honda software. It would take a genius to do that
