Hey Scotty, I have a 1993 Celica Convertible with the 3S GE engine with 85k mi. When idling at operating temp after removing the oil filler cap, a puff of white smoke comes out and after that no smoke visible but cap tends to blow out, possibly high crankcase pressure. Could it be bad PCV valve? The PCV valve has never been touched it's the factory one. Could that be the reason it's burning a quart of oil every 3000 mi and my headgasket is leaking oil (visible under exhaust manifold) but no drops of oil though just sweating? The car was in its history only used on trips longer than 30 mi and mostly on highways but for several times it was parked in a garage for years, I know it because I'm the second owner since 1995 and 12k mi. Thanks

it's on the valve cover, look closely where a vacuum line from the silver intake manifold goes to the top of the valve cover, the pcv valve has the hose connected to it there and sits inside the valve cover grommet hole

Thanks Scotty. Can you help me locate the PCV valve?

sure change the pcv valve and see what happens. 'that low mileage, engine should be fine.

Try changing the pcv valve and hope that works but if oil is leaking from the head gasket then the head gasket is blown and engine is living on borrowed time.
