Hey Scotty I'm a huge fan I'm working on a 2000 Volkswagen Passat 4-cylinder turbocharged I'm having a lot of trouble finding the idle air control valve I know it should be around the throttle body or near it but I just don't see it where in this engine is it

Hello, I really need help, tired of putting money in and problem not being fixed. I have a 2007 Mazda cx9 with over 200k miles. When I'm at a stop light (on gas) and press the heat or air button, my car dies. It does restart tho. My "ABS" "TCS OFF" and traction warning lights are on as well. Not sure why.

Hi Scotty!! I have Toyota Camry 2012 lately I have notice that when I accelerate in above 30-40 mph the car kind of hesitate or start kind of shaking. What it could be? I change the spark plugs, air filter and clean the air sensor watching your videos. But it hasn’t got any better. Any thoughts?

Howdy Scotty! My mom's 2007 PT Cruiser will lose the instrument panel intermittently when driving. I have tried to tighten some of the pins on the wires under the steering column trim pieces, per YouTube, but the issue has come back. Have you ever seen this? I'm trying to maintain this #$$&# Chrysler because my mom loves the PT Cruiser style. Thank you!!

Hey Scotty, I got a 2001 buick park avenue with 130k miles on it. The transmission shifts very hard in all gears. After hooking up a scan tool and watching the Pressure control solenoid having power and then after about 10 minutes it goes to 0 amps and the car starts to shift hard. should I replace it? will it destroy the transmisson?

Good evening, Scotty! I have a 2005 Scion xB with 250k miles. I had wheel hop symptoms when slipping the clutch and eventually the transmission blew out due to a bad output shaft bearing. I replaced the transmission with a pick-a-part unit with 110k miles. At the same time, I replaced the clutch, flywheel, engine mounts and transmission mount with aftermarket OEM replacements. At first the car was smooth but now the wheel hop came back even worse, as my steering wheel would hop as well. I also now have a lot more engine vibrations felt in the cabin and pretty terrible engine drone between 2.8-3.5k RPM. A couple symptoms which I believe is unrelated as I think it's just a bad alternator but maybe worth mentioning, is that my accessory belt would squeal sometimes and that the RPM would dip whenever I turn on something with higher electrical load such as HID ballast and power windows. Can you give some suggestions what I should look at to repair? Sorry for the wall of text!

Hey Scotty, I have a 2001 Honda Civic with nearly 250,000. When turning the steering wheel to the left, there is a clicking/clanking sound coming from the front passenger wheel. We have replaced all of the shocks on the car and the CV Joints (which WAS worn out on the front passenger side). My father thinks it could be the sway bar on that side but is not 100% sure. What are your thoughts at what could be causing this noise to happen?

Hi Scotty. Used test light to find suspected short like you demonstrate in your video. One fuse made it go totally out, and a few others made it very faint. Could they all be related or separate issues? 30 year old GM truck in great condition.

Hey Scotty I have a blue 2006 toyota matrix similar to yours (I love it) I recently bought aftermarket headlights similar to yours however I could not adjust the low beams low enough to not blind cars in front of me. What company did you buy your aftermarket headlights from? thanks! -Luke

Hi all hope you can help can't figure out what the engine management light and abs light codes are on my Honda civic 2000 em1 or si coupe. I have a video of it on YouTube click or access the link bellow:

Does anyone know what the codes are? When the ignition is on no eml appears. When I start the car and run it for 5 mins the light comes on and stays on. However the abs doesn't come on or flash. This only happens during the code pulling.

Many thanks in advance

Scotty, I have a 2013 Ford Taurus 3.5 V6 FWD with 205,000 miles. First few minutes every day it shifts harder than normal then it's fine the rest of the day. I have it serviced at my Ford dealer every 5000 miles. They say the transmission is sealed so nothing to check (there's no dipstick). I'd like to drive it as long as possible. What do you think? Any other general tips for later model high milers? Thanks!!

Hey Scotty, What do you think of Aftermarket air filters? AEM, K&N. not the cold air intakes that make noise but the washable filters, vs the oem paper ones. Are they any good?

Hi Scotty, I have a 1997 Avenger ES 2.5 with 153,000 miles. The car runs fine when it runs but when I am at idle the car tends to stall. I was told it could be the coil in the distributor so over the weekend I changed the distributor and the car ran fine when I took it for a test drive. The next day I started it in the garage and it stalled again and again. When I went to accelerate the car bucked like it was starving for fuel but I am just guessing about the fuel part. When I turn the key to the on position I do not hear the fuel pump kick in like I did when the fuel pump was new, it was replaced around 5 or 6 years ago. What possible could be going on with this car?

Been watching your videos for some time now and just blew the timing belt on my 2001 xterra with 270k miles on it...that along with a number if other issues my mechanic asked for it and I gladly gave it to him....worked for both of us. Now I’m looking at used cars, my wife just purchased a new Mazda 3 and I just looked at a beautiful 2004 Volkswagen Beetle GLS 2.0L Convertible....garage kept, super clean interior. Been reading that transmissions and catalytic converter’s can go on these models plus I saw the video you did. I have some mechanics here in San Diego that are really good it’s a father and son who have been in business a really long time and just wanted to know your thoughts even before I brought it to them to run their scans on and check it out for me. Your response would be much appreciated and I really appreciate all the videos you do, thank you. Thanks

Whats up Scotty, I have a 91 honda civic, it has a D15b JDM non vtec, I just installed an has 30k-60k on the engine. All sensors and hoses are brand new including my IACV! I just started driving it after 3 yrs of working on it. My car is stall only when I come to a stop sign or stop light, Idles great other wise. I unplugged the IACV and turned the idle screw up for correct timmig and it still stalls. Im pretty sure its not the 3rd brand new IACV so do u have any other clues as to what it could be, alternator is new battery is new an all hold charge. could it be my fuel pump filter? Thanks, darthraider04@gmail.com

So Scotty.. This 92' Bravada of mine overheats a bit but not to full hot but just before it. My heater works but does not blow super hard although it sounds like it does, the air is warm still though. Both the hoses leading to it are warm and I can feel cool air coming from around the belt driven fan. 0 coolant leakage internally or externally. It has a new thermostat, upper and lower hoses, and 50/50 mix.Would this be a partially blocked heater core causing my problem?

Hi scotty! I currently own a 2005 Nissan Frontier with a QD32 engine, it has a blown head gasket and spills coolant quiet hard. I was offered a QD32 Turbo engine for 3.2k, will it work if the original one is N/A?

Hi Scotty - what is your opinion on brush guards and bull bars for trucks? Do they usually help in reducing impact damage?
