Hi scotty which car would be best for the buck if you live in Canada where the cold ruins engines and etches off the primer/paint off the solid steel undercarriage of the car? The cheapest safetied car I found was a 2015 civic ex auto with 70k km got 12500$ or a corolla with about the same mileage for like 13500 or so.

I know cars are an investment but since I drive city km and will see my car rust and crumble before hitting anywhere near 200 km should I opt out to any cheaper car lets says with higher mileage like 160k km civic for 5000$? It probably won't be safetied, have damage record or straight from auction....

If I knew a used car will only last 6-8 years now much should I spend and what should I buy? Thanks

corolla, my mother has one in buffalo, 15 years old, still no rust. Get a low mileage one and 15 years is nothing for those
