So I just bought a used Mazda 3, 1.6 diesel (2012) Venture edition. It has 75k miles on the clock and all else seems fine other than one thing. I’ve had it a week now and I’ve noticed that it is a little rough while idling. There isn’t any RPM surge or anything like that, it’s just rough at a standstill. Now at first I thought it was because I have gone from a 2ltr petrol to a diesel but I’ve also noticed that there seems to be slight jerks when I accelerate.... I think it goes away once the car has warmed up a bit but I can’t be too sure as I haven’t done any longer journeys this week. The day I bought it I drove it back from London which is about 150 miles and I didn’t feel any jerks. I could be feeling a power loss but as I’ve not known any different as I’ve just got the car (and Im used to a much quicker car) I can’t really be sure. I have also smelt a chemically smell a couple of times inside the car.. could be coolant smell or just something the dealer has cleaned the engine with... don’t know for sure as I’m not mechanically minded! Please help! Is it something big that I will have to find money I don’t have for!!?
Thanks in advance!
