Hi Scotty my name is Greg I’m from New York I have two vehicles that need work one my 1995 Oldsmobile cutlass Ciera with 95k when I turn the wheel either way I get a knock or popping sound and also when I brake accelerate change gears and with my foot on the brake and in drive turning the wheel all the way left and all the way right she does it and when its in park and sometimes the tire rolls foward a little I’m hearing the same knocking or popping sound and it does it mostly when my hand is on the wheel it’s not loud but I hear it when I’m driving just wonder what that could be and is it safe to drive it like that. and my other car is a 1999 Toyota solara and my front pipe where the hanger is located there a small pin hole my mechanic told me it cheaper to have that section cut out and a new piece welded on and he said the hanger would have to be welded on also just wondering how much that would cost and can the car be driven like that for a little while right now I’m just hearing a hissing sound or can’t cause the more I use it the more stress I’m putting on it and it will cause it to get worse and if that happens would they still be able to cut and weld a new piece on in that section or would I have to replace the whole front pipe that has the catalic converter and that will costs a lot of money please let me know when you can thanks so much and I love your videos on your YouTube channel
What kind of tape do you recommend the pin hole is in the front section where the catylic converter is but the whole is near one of the hangers and how much tape would I need and will this permently fix it or would I still have to fix it down the line cause if the olds is a lot to repair I can’t fix both it be too much
Thanks for the advice I’m not good jacking up a car last time I tried to change a flat I screwed up and aaa had to come lol the olds mostly does it when the wheel turning I hope that’s not a lot to repair and how do I put the tape on the pipe have my mechanic do it how long can I get away with that I don’t use the car that much meaning far trips just I take it for a rides every day during the winter due to the cold weather so it don’t die
jack up the olds and test the front end as in this video.
And as for the toyota, heck, why not just cover the hole with some muffler tape auto parts stores sell for the time being. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDAFxt46PHk
