Hi Scotty I’ve got a problem with my 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it’s been a real mystery to me so I hope you can help diagnose my problem. When I first bought the car it ran fine till I took it on it’s first short journey, less than 5 miles. I went to a restaurant, I was in there about an hour.when I returned to the car and tried to start the car and all it would do is crank but not start. I had it towed to the dealership and when I checked back with them the next day they said they couldn’t find any problems with it that it started for them all day. So I took the car back and a week later it did the same thing to me. Again I took it back and this time after the tow truck let it down off the bed the driver put the key in and the Jeep started normally. After a brief discussion with the service department they still couldn’t find any issues that would cause my problem. It’s got proper fuel pressure and they couldn’t get any codes either. I noticed that if I let the car sit and completely cool down to a dead cold it would start right back up but now it won’t start even if it sits all night long. Does this sound like a crankshaft position sensor? Or maybe a camshaft position sensor. Mind you there are still no codes stored in the computer. Can you help me please???
