Hi Scotty - I think I have a haunted 2009 Ford Escape. Only 20k miles, rarely used by my aunt before her passing. Recently, I noticed the headlights randomly flashing when the car is off and has been sitting in my driveway for hours. When it does this, the lights on the dash flicker in time with the headlights, and also the taillights. This has also occurred when I am driving as well! I can hear relays clicking in time to the flashing, and feel the clicking in the shifter on the center console, sometimes the radio cuts out and comes right back on during these episodes. Turning on the headlights makes no difference. Sometimes ithe flashing is triggered by driving under an overpass during the day (the switch from light to dark) and usually when the car is off, the flashing will begin at nightfall. BUT it has also started when the car is off during the day. Some days it doesn't happen at all. I do not have the switch set to the automatic headlights setting. Any idea where to start with this??

I'd start with the battery, it's possible it's weak, then also have the charging system load tested. Iv'e seen several Fords with factory alarm issues were caused by weak batteries or problematic charging systems...

alarm system problems. Have a pro with a dealer level scanner test that and the body control computer module which may be bad
