Hi Scotty, i have been following you for sometime now and have pretty much watched every video of yours on youtube. just wanted to give you my 2 cents and share my experience with my 2007 Acura TL Type s with the 3.5 L v6 honda engine and automatic transmission. i bought the car with 35,000 miles back in 2010 and now have over 202,000 miles with original engine and transmission going strong . at about 80,000 miles the transmission started to shudder and slip - i brought it to dealer and they said i needed to change the fluid which i had them do and it took care of the issue (just a drain and fill not a flush). they advised me to have it changed every 30,000 miles. at that point i began doing all my own maintenance on the car that i could do and it has become my hobby now! the owners manual for my TL recommended some type of automatic transmission fluid that Honda does not make any more (suspicious) they say to use Honda ATF-DW1 now which i do myself every 15,000 miles since the 80,000 mile first tranny service. so i believe Honda makes/uses weak transmission fluid compared to designing weak automatic transmissions (for this 2007 model year at least). i drive my car pretty hard and race it a lot stop light to stop light and its my daily as well in frequent stop and go traffic every day and my transmission is smooth, no shudder or slipping, and feels really strong still (fingers crossed) just wanted to share my experience with this particular transmission. i plan on driving this car as many miles i can - i'm curious to see how far i can make it go - hoping for at least 400,000 miles before i want something else.
