Hi Scotty, I have an alternator question. I just bought a truck that had a brand new alternator installed. I drove the truck home and messed with it in the driveway for a few hours then when the wife got home we went for a drive in my new ride. We stopped to get a coffee for the ride and in the drive thru the alternator meter dropped to zero and the truck stalled. So I exchanged said alternator for yet another new one. Problem solved truck started just fine and we were on our side way. Later that evening I was on my way to work and the alt meter dropped to zero again and the truck stalled yet again this time on the side of the road. Frustrated because I don't think it's very probable to get 2 bad alternators in a row. What could my issue be?

Wiring seems to be clean and in check. What is the procedure for checking if an ignition switch is faulty?

could just be crappy rebuilts, BUT check the wiring on the alternator for corrossion and check the igntion switch to see if it's bad
