Hi scotty, I have a 86 toyota corolla that ive been fixing up for awhile now but one of the problems that still persist with it is that the car lacking a lot of power. everytime i push on the gas from idle the car for a moment feels like its not getting enough fuel and has problems accelerating. i put in a rebuilt carb and ive checked all my vacuum hoses, but i have noticed that the carb is leaving a lot of residue behind. any tips? and thank you very much.

I'd start with trying to figure out if its coming from a tire, the suspension, or the driveline.

ok, thanks a bunch.luckily I've still got the old one just in case I wanted to rebuild one myself for the fun of it xD also while this is a second question (you don't have to answer if you don't want to) the car just recently started to shake only when I hover around 60mph, I'm pretty curious as to why this is. thanks again

rebuilt carbs on those things are often garbage. Me, I'd take it back and either try another, or better, get your money back and find a weber carb conversion kit, they run great, I used to do that a lot in the olden days.
