Hi Scotty, I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Ecilpse GS. For the second time, it has left my mother and I stranded on an intersection coming off the freeway. This only happens after doing 80 MPH for 24 miles going to a friend's place. Entire car shakes hard when going that speed (as that's as fast as it'll go). Had alignment and tires balanced twice, and issue is still there. I was able to get out of intersection, but car died again going downhill going towards red-light. Had mom get on driver's side while I pushed, and after moving out of the way, car turned back on by itself and caught me off guard, which resulted in it almost dragging me behind it. (Car was still in drive) I let go and fell, shoulder cracked but nothing was affected, and my right leg just hurts to lift, nothing major. I'm done with this car, but my mother insists on keeping it cause it's fast. I understand it's her car, but it's gotten to the point that I no longer trust the car to go any further than the 48 mile-round trip just to see some friends of ours. I know she doesn't want to get rid of it, but it feels like it's not getting enough fuel, or the catalytic converters just shot. What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks for the answer! Will definitely have mechanic check that out. I'll ask for it to be pressure tested, as well as the catalytic converter. Pretty sure that has crap in it after Seafoam treatment.

Often that's a sign of the electric fuel pump starting to go out
