Hi Scotty i can really use some help because im stumped. I have a 1996 Tacoma 2wd 2.4L and its been really acting up. It had been running great until a bad storm. That same day the truck just all of a sudden started stalling and then didn't start. I found oil and moisture in distributor ended up replacing it and crank issue ended. Then it started to idle poorly and had 0 throttle response no matter if throttle was wide open or not. Found my TV cable burnt through and snapped due to touching the header. I swapped that and got throttle response back.
Now the idle is still rough and when ever i apply throttle the engine stalls. First timing was checked and everything was good according to tech manuel, compression check was done and everything was within spec, then intake manifold was taken off and had extreme carbon build up so i degreased and power washed it out. Cleaned throttle body and IAC valve installed everything and ran sea foam in gas and through throttle body with nozzle. Condition unchanged, replaced spark plugs and air filter, egr modulator valve, TPS sensor, and cleaned MAF sensor to change in statues. If I very very slowly turn throttle body rpms rise with out stalling but after about 4k rpm i get a backfire through intake out air box and rpms go to 0. Idle was set to about 750-800 according to specs. Any help would be much appreciated.
