Hi Scotty I am at the dealership doing my 15k mile check up for my Toyota Corolla hatchback manual transmission and the representative came back telling me that my car needed a “AC System Cleaning” what do they mean by that? That service alone is $87 is that something I can do on my own?

If your A/C works fine I’m pretty sure you don’t need to clean it

Damn, i change my cabin air filter for $20 bucks, engine air filter for another $20 bucks.... and a/c cleaning???!! What I do is when my engine is cold I spray water to the radiator to take off some road grime and dirt... for free. Dont go to stealership for any maintenance, go and look for a trusted honest mechanics. Ill go to stealership for only warranty issues.

There are YouTube tutorials on DIY'ing an A/C System Cleaning. I'm surprised they didn't offer to charge $120 to change your Blinker Fluid too. It's called ''Upselling.''
