Hi Scotty Could really use your help and advice i sent my 07 chevy avalanche to a shop over a month ago because i had no compression in cylinder #4 so they tell me its because of burnt valves that the heads would need to come off and sent to a machine shop so i said ok and he quoted me a lil over $2300 for the job said ok again well about a week later i call and heads just got back hes about to put it back together so i call a couple days later and its back together but still having issues so had to take engine back apart to see what was going on well without telling me he went and ordered parts for my truck when i talked to him after he already ordered them he told me 2 Solinoids where bad but he had to replace 4 of them so ok put it back together again and stiil having issues got told still having compression issues so had to check pistons and rings now well they turned out to be fine so he got truck put back together again and finally had compression in cylinder #4 but i called the other day and got told that now it has a oil pressure issue that everything in truck was running fine but the oil pressure i was told that when he started truck it went to 40 then dropped to zero so he had to figure out what was going on and this with oil pressure was just the other day well come to find out i got a buddy that works at the junk yard and he calls and tells me that the guy working on my truck just came in there and bought a engine for my truck for like $250 now at the biginning this guy quoted me over 7 grand to put a engine in my truck which i thought was ridiculous when i could of bought a refurbished engine online for $2500 to a lil over $3000 well i couldnt afford the almost 8 grand so i went with just getting the heads and stuff done i have not heard or talked to them in a couple days now but after hearing this about getting a engine now im going to go down there and see what the hell is going on but first i thought id see if i can get your help and advice on what to do about all this im not sure what i should do i really dont want to get screwed more then i oviously already have so please if you could help me out and tell me what i should do i would greatly appreciate it thank you

oh yeah he is screwing you bad. To be honest, if the oil pressure drops to zero after it starts. It sounds like it may be the sender once the engine idles down. So the mechanic should put a mechanical gauge to check the oil pressure. I hope you called him to stop him from taking the engine out.
