Hi Scotty! 2k Jeep Cherokee 225,000 miles, daily driver. Owned it since 145,000, 6+ years. Over thanksgiving It sat for about a week, in the garage. I changed the oil the evening before I went back to work. After changing the oil I ran it around the block to warm it up before checking the oil level. When I went to back it up the driveway, it stalled. It struggled to restart but it did restart. It was idling low and rough. Since then it has had intermittent stalling issues, always at idle. I took it to my buddy who has a Chrysler specific scanner doohickey, as he has a Cherokee as well. He’s not a mechanic, but he is very familiar with his tool and cherokees. We checked the fuel pressure while off, on and under acceleration, all numbers were within range. We hooked up his doohickey, no check engine light. No codes of any kind. He said that was odd because any time his XJ stalls, it’ll throw a code. He ran through some diagnostics while the engine was running and didn’t see any injector issues or anything out of the norm. The weirdest part is that he asked if I had disconnected the battery recently. He said the computer was showing that it had only been started 3 times since being reset. I had started the Jeep 3 times since it stalled. It stalled again while parked, idling while he was looking at it. We restarted it and then the computer said it had been started once since being reset. I would really appreciate any light you could shed on this odd situation!

@Techsus yeah, tons of them. There’s also tons of threads on Jeep/XJ specific forums too, which is precisely why I’m here. The computer resetting after stalls and no codes being thrown isn’t mentioned in any of those videos or threads I’ve seen. Figured I’d do more research and ask detailed questions before I wasted time/money fixing random things. Thanks though.
