Hi Scotty. 1st...love the shows. Been watching for a few years now. I am having a problem with the car that I recently bought, and my mechanic and myself have rno idea what's going on with it. It is a 2004 Ford focus ZXW with a two point it is a 2004 Ford focus ZXW with a 2.0 Zetec dohc. I recently purchased a car and it was in extremely good shape and very well-maintained. It died on me a couple of weeks ago suddenly. After some investigation, I found a burned out 30 amp mega fuse for the starter/ignition had blown. After looking for the cause of it I found a wire going to the coil had melted. I have replaced repaired the wire, replace the coil, replace the coil harness, swapped ECM and ignition , check that the timing belt didn't skip, and it still just cranks over. If I put my foot to the floor with the gas it coughs and sputters. It had the timing belt, tensioner, water pump changed at 100k. It all started with that short in the wire going to the coil. There's power going to the coil ,according to my mechanic it's proper. The car was running great before all this. It's getting spark it's getting gas it's getting air... I just don't know what to do. I'm running out of money and ideas and help. I can be reached at Davechaplow@gmail.com

I did not have to reprogram the ECM because I also swapped out the key and ignition that matched it from my other focus

You did mention you swapped the ECM. Scotty mentioned to reprogram, but you said you did not, so....did you try reprogramming the ECM?

I was hoping for a bit more input than that! Disappointing.

This car has been immaculately maintained. Has only 195,000 kilometres. Oil changes every 5,000 kilometres, preventative maintenance, rustproofed, Its far from "junk"

It's not junk. I changed the ignition with the ecm so no programming required.
