Hi Mr. Kilmer,

First: thank you for your excellent video's and advice here and on on YouTube!

I am a Dutchman from The Netherlands and the owner of a 2004, 1,400 cc petrol engine, manual drive, Mazda 2. It has done about 208,000 km (or about 230,000 miles). I bought the car about one year ago (and with about 15,000 km or 10,000 miles less on the odometer).

Two things are bugging me: when accelerating the engine sort of stutters at about 1,700 rPM. It's not that big of a problem to me, but I wonder if it signifies something which might become a problem in the future and which may be hopefully easy to fix now it is not that much of a problem yet.

Second: when I start the engine and it is cold, it is quite difficult to get it into gear. Any gear. Once I'm off, the gears are easy to change. So, to circumvent this complication when parking for a longer time, before I leave my car I put the car into the gear which I will need later when I will drive off again. Do you have any idea as to what may be the cause of this issue?

Thanks for your time!

Best regards, Mike
