hey scotty i was hoping you can steer me in the right direction about fixing my 2000 Dodge Stratus SE 2.4L. The car had overheating problems the past 3 days but I still drove it like that to get to work. On my way to work i noticed it had overheated well sooner than usual so i turned around and tried to make it back home before any serious damage occurred. At this point the car was signaling the temp. was way too hot and wanted to turn off whenever i came to a stop so i pressed the gas to stop it from shutting off on its own. I managed to get it home and then let it cool off. I then added coolant , changed the thermostat, and fans because both weren't functioning correctly. then i tried to turn it on later and it did start but except when i was driving the car it began making like a clunky sound whenever i pressed the accelerator and under the hood smoke comes from the engine block towards the back while the car temp was rather normal. i hope this explanation makes sense to you ( other than my poor car maintenance and decision to drive the car knowing it was over heating ). Please do find the time to answer my questions. Thank you for your time and I appreciate your help and expertise very much. Brian in Campbell, CA
