Hey scotty! I own a 92 Camaro RS with a 3.8L V6. I just replaced the sparkplugs, wireset, distributer cap and the rotor. She runs fine until after roughly 15 minutes then for some reason I will try to give it gas and I hear chattering noises were my distributer cap is. I checked the cap to find white powder like stuff on it. I'm pretty sure it's arcing. I don't understand why and I'm frustrated because I have the correct firing order. Yet still, when I try and go above 3,000rpm the engine won't perform. It won't go past 3,000 and I have this loud arcing going on. I really need help. I'm not really experienced with working on cars and I've pretty muvh been teaching myself how to work on cars with my Camaro.

Would you mind elaborating on your mentioning of dimensions? What dimensions are you referring to? Please don't take this as rude.

Take the cap back off and make sure every dimension inside and out is exactly the same - rotor as well - you have the wrong parts installed or not installed correctly most likely

Oops! It's a 3.1L not a 3.8L! My bad!
