Hey scotty, I just fixed my fuel leak to my 1993 plymouth colt gl 1.8l sedan and the only right now with it cranking and not starting is that there is no spark. So far we put in a new fuel filter with some new o ring and that fixed the fuel leakage then we checked to see if the was pressure and there was but we didn't go to the fuel injectors. So we moved to the next section and we had already put new spark plug, spark plug wires, distributor rotor, and distributor cap. since there is no spark would there be a way to check to see if the distributor is good and not something else. Also the distributor rotor spins and normal speed.

you go to the wiring harness that plugs into the distributor. then crank the engine over with someone else doing the cranking. As it cranks, test the power wires feeding the distributor with a test light or meter. If no power goes into the distributor on the power wire as it cranks, it has no power. You either get a wiring diagram for the power wire, OR you test them all and if none get power, it's a power loss going to the dist and not a bad dist itelf.

@ScottyKilmer how do you check to see if power goes into it as it cranks.

see if power goes into the distributor as you crank it. if no power goes into it's wiring, then there's a short somewhere that needs fixing, like a bad ignition switch or wiring. If it has power, put in a rebuilt distributor unit
