Hey Scotty, I have a 2006 5.7 liter Dodge Durango. The RPM,s jump as im driving. It doesn't do it all the time it's mostly when im driving steady 40 or 50 mph. And sometimes soon after I accelerate from a traffic light or stop sign. Im hoping its nothing to sirius but today it actually stalled out on me. Do you know what the cause of this problem is? I appreciate any help..Thank you

sad but true, on those, almost always transmission slipping at those certain speeds. Some gears may slip, some may not when they start to go out

happy to provide intelligent reply after you OBDII scan your vehicle, post Codes here. Lots of things can cause that. You've got this fantastic diagnostic tool available, so scan it now & avoid guessing.

I was also told that it could be the throttle body or idle air control valve? Not sure where to really start?

The trans seems to be ok. There aren't any problems in faster speeds and it shifts through the gears smoothly.

Is trans slipping? May be lock up converter. Or trans going bad
