Hey Scotty, I have a 2005 Ford Escape 3.0 V6 4x4. One day at a stop light, it stalled and the engine died. I had it towed to a mechanic. The next day it started and drove fine. My mechanic says he thinks it is the lock-up solenoid. Could this be the issue? Also, could it be a bad torque converter? P.S. There is no check engine light.

One more thing; I can't seem to find a new lock up solenoid for my Ford Escape at Autozone or any other parts store. Does the control solenoid contain the lock-up solenoid as well? Hope to hear back soon. Thanks!

could be lots of things, a real pro would analyze historical data, road test it and then also analyze mode 6 and live data. Find a guy who does that FIRST. Generally only ford sells those parts, go to a dealer parts dept and they can look it all up and tell what the control solenoid contains. I'm not a ford tranny rebuilder
