Hey Scotty i have a 2003 nissan X-Trail T30, from about 3-4 months i changed the (cylinder head and radiator ) at nissan dealer because of radiator leakage thus overheating happened. A week later i noticed a little oily residue on the engine head cover, the dealer told me that the head gasket needs to be changed and that they will seal the head cover because its rubber grommets are done, But that did not work, so they told me i need to replace the head cover. Another problem occurred , the engine oil was low, it was burning oil. so the mechanic at the dealer told me that either the engine is done or the oil you used was very bad quality, he then changed the oil and filter and advised me to monitor the engine oil for the next 5000 km to see what the reason is?

Question 1: is the oily residue on the engine head cover has to do with the leakage of the engine oil? Question 2: is the mechanic at the dealer right about either the engine is done or the oil you used was very bad quality and what is the real reason for this happening ? Question 3: if the engine is done would you advise me to repair it or replace it?

please answer all my questions i need your help what to do!!

yes, and yes and I would get rid of it and get a toyota. Those engines cost too much to replace correctly , well over the vehicles value
