Hey Scotty!

I have a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country 3.8L 2WD with over 200,000 miles on it.

I noticed the transmission was not shifting smoothly for a few days and then finally, it got stuck in one gear and would not go beyond 50 miles per hour. The Check-Engine light came on and I had it scanned. It came up with the following codes:

P0700 : Transmission Control System (Mil Request)
P0715 : Input Turbine Speed Sensor 'A' Circuit

I started with the easiest fix. I replaced the Transmission Input Speed Sensor and drove it for a while. The Check-Engine light turned off by itself and the car appeared to drive smoothly, and was able to accelerate beyond 50 miles per hour.

I noticed after a few hours of driving around that the car now has difficulty shifting from gear 1 to gear 2 when the speedometer is in the region of 15 miles per hour. This only happens when I move very fast from rest, rapidly accelerating. Whenever I move slowly from rest, it shifts smoothly and I do not feel the violent jarring of the car at 15 miles per hour, where the car would normally shift with great difficulty had I moved fast. The check-engine light came back on when this happened about 6 times and its still on. Once past 15 miles per hour, the transmission shifts smoothly with no difficulty at all.

What do you think is wrong with my car? What would you suggest I do to fix it?

those trannys stink, and from my experience yours has internal wear requiring a full rebuild. Get rid of it as they are junk over time
