I have a 2000 gc8 wrx that I barely drive and just turn it on once a week or so to let it idle and let the oil circulate and what not and I have been doing so for about 1 year, barely drive the car. It has a brand new ej207 bottom end, fresh heads and gaskets etc etc.. it also has a recondition 5 speed transmission and a brand new excedy heavy duty clutch with machined fly wheel that I put in about 500-1000kms ago, brand new bearing that sits in the middle on the fly wheel

The other day I turned it on as usual to let it warm up and I clutched in to try and attempted to put it in gear and it wouldn’t go in, I tried a few times and it wouldn’t go in. I turned the car off and put it in first and I clutched in, then I cranked it over and the car jumped as if I didn’t have my foot on the clutch. I took it back out of gear and turned the car back on and tried again to put it in gear and this time it went in like normal but when I slowly let go of the clutch to see if it rolls forward, soon as the car started to move I hear noise coming from the engine bay, only when the clutch starts to engage. When I clutch back in the noise goes away, when I release the clutch slowly and soon as the car starts to move and the clutch is engaging the noise comes back.

Can you point me in the right direction as to why this all happened? Could I have damaged my clutch by not letting it bed in properly when I first installed it?
