Hey Scotty. I have a 2000 dodge dakota 3.9 v6 5 speed. My cruise control stopped working about the same time my engine started ideling high roughly 1500 rpms. When I first start it the cruise light comes on and blinks for about a minute. I’ve changed the TPS x3 , IAC x3 , manifold gasket, plenum gasket and power steering pump. and all of shops I bring it to insist that’s it’s still the iac or tps. If had two vacuum tests done and none has found a leak. One of the shops told me the truck was not accelerating properly, instead of very even and consistently, it was bouncing around with there OBD2 scanner. After some online research I’ve seen it could be the PCM. It’s also weird many of the mechanics I brought it to said they have never seen this before. When i put pressure on the motor, (ex turn the wheel all the way one way, or press the throttle a few times) the engine will eventually idle correctly about 700 rpms. What can I do with out spending more money at a shop that’s going to tell me the same thing. Could it be the cruise control module or the PCM?

on those, almost always a bad main computer IF you replace the tps and it does the same thing, run fine when disconnected

Also when I unplug the TPS when it’s running the truck will idle completely fine. Around 650-700 RPMs.
