Hey Scotty,

I have 2005 Chevy Malibu Maxx LS, 3.5 Liter V6. Once a while when I start the car and its has been running for a while, it has trouble starting. It never has trouble starting when cold, its only when its at normal operating temperature. It does not happen every time. Also it does not matter how full or empty the gas tank is.

Got any idea what could cause this problem?

Note: I have tried fuel injector cleaner and it still has the same problem. I have even changed the spark plugs, EVAP canister(by Chevy).

Sincerely,
Nicholas

I am looking in my car Haynes Manual. There is a Engine Coolant Temp sensor(ECT) and a Intake Air Temperature Sensor. (IAT) Should I replace both sensors or just one?

Thanks Scotty. I would assume it would not be hard to change a temperature sensor myself. Correct?

Yes, pray it's a bad temp sensor for the computer. if not that, they often flood out when hot and sitting,. Try giving it full gas when starting then to unflood the engine

Possibly a bad temperature switch.
